Questions

How long should a title and description be?

This tool warns above 60 characters for the title and 160 for the description, the lengths after which search results commonly cut text off. They are guides, not rules, and the real cut-off depends on pixel width.

Does the tool load my image or page?

No. Nothing you type is sent anywhere and the image address is never fetched, so the previews show a placeholder box with the address instead of the picture.

Why is some text turned into & and "?

Characters such as &, <, > and quotes are escaped so they cannot break the tag they sit in. Browsers and crawlers read them back as the original characters.

Where do I put the language?

The lang attribute belongs on your opening html tag, outside the head, so the output includes a comment reminding you. If you enter a language with a region, such as en-US, the og:locale tag is added too.

What happens to an invalid address or colour?

It is flagged under the field and left out of the generated HTML, so a typo never ends up in your page.
