Add a watermark to PDF

PDF

Stamp text or an image across your PDF pages, right in your browser.

Choose a PDF to see page 1 with your watermark.

How it works

Add a text or image watermark to a PDF. Choose size, colour, opacity, angle, position and pages, and preview page 1. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Type your watermark text or pick an image, then set colour, opacity, angle, position and pages. Page 1 previews as you go.
  3. Download your watermarked PDF.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The watermark is drawn on your device, in this browser tab. Your file and your watermark image never leave it.

Can a watermark be removed?

Yes, by someone with PDF editing software. The watermark is drawn on top of each page, so it deters casual reuse but does not lock the document. For real protection, share a flattened copy or control who receives the file.

Why does my text show an error?

The text is drawn with Helvetica, which covers Latin letters, digits and common punctuation. Characters from other scripts, such as Chinese, Arabic or emoji, cannot be drawn, so the tool names them and asks you to remove them. For those, use an image watermark.

Does it keep my pages as they were?

Yes. Page sizes, existing rotation and your original content are left alone. The watermark is placed on the page as you see it, so it reads at the angle you chose even on a rotated page.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose "Only these" and enter pages such as 1-3, 5, 8-. The preview shows page 1, and it is clean if page 1 is not in your list.
